Blake grew up in the foothills of Sacramento and started playing golf at an early age. After playing golf in high school and continuing to play recreationally throughout college, he began to seriously work on his game. In 2021, he joined the concierge team at Haggin Oaks where he took a further interest in golf education, equipment changes, and technology in the game. While working on his master’s in education, he discovered an overlap with golf where he could further his teaching skills.
He joined the Junior golf coaching team in 2022 at Haggin Oaks and then expanded his role by taking the NCIG Lead Youth Golf Coach position at the South Sacramento locations, Bing Maloney and William Land Park. Blake’s goal is to maximize his background in education and working with kids to make golf fun, approachable, and easier to understand.
Now in the PGA apprentice program, he rounds out his coaching schedule by working with the Cal Eagles program for adults with developmental disabilities and the NCIG’s Adaptive PE program.
