“Mike R. who runs the group has been terrific. The several groups I have played with have also been great guys. I really enjoy the format because one never knows until they show up at the course what holes will be part of the game. But for me the absolute highlight is the golf course itself. The staff of Land Park should be extremely proud of their efforts to maintain this Sacramento landmark. To have such a jewel to play regularly is a treat unto itself.” David Trujilo
“First off, let me say I’ve been golfing at Land Park since I was 11-years-old back in 1963. Even got up early summer mornings to sell coffee and Kool-Aid on the long eighth hole. In those days, you went to two clinics to qualify for a golf card which let you play for 25 cents a round. And, don’t think I didn’t take full advantage of that!
My brother-in-law, George Thoma, got me involved with the Land Park Seniors last July. And, it was the greatest thing I did in 2020. Mike Ratzlaff has done a tremendous job with this group and it is a can’t miss event for me each week.
A $5 “donation” gets you a chance to win closest-to-the-pin and least putts cash. Plus, Mike chooses three holes each week for lowest scores. Four divisions have been set up based on how well you play, so everyone has a fair chance to win.” John Caffrey
